Jigsaw puzzles from Japan

Anne of Green Gables

These puzzles show scenes from the Nippon Animation version of Anne of Green Gables, rendered as attractive oil paintings by their resident artist Tan Xiaoyong. The stories are based on the series of books by the Canadian, Lucy Maud Montgomery, set in Prince Edward Island and published in the early twentieth century.

The Japanese TV animation series was made in 1979; its title is Akage-no-An ("red-haired Anne"), referring to the principal character — strictly speaking "Anne of Green Gables" is the title of the first book in the series.

The artist Tan Xiaoyong was born in Chongqing, China, but moved to Japan in 1992 and now lives in Tokyo. He is active in many other fields of illustration as well as anime.
