Gintama anime puzzles

Gintama literally means "Silver soul", and this manga written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi is set in the Edo period (17th to 19th centuries), yet involves an invasion by extraterrestrials. The name is formed of two characters ("silver" and "soul"), so may equally be written "Gin Tama".
