1000: Howl - crossing the sea (Ghibli)

Based on the fantasy novel of the same name by British author Diana Wynne Jones, Howl's Moving Castle (2004) follows the adventures of the young girl Sophie, who, turned into a grandmother, meets the mysterious Howl and his unusual means of transport.

Founded by Hayao Miyazaki in 1985, Studio Ghibli is an animation film studio which has produced a string of internationally acclaimed full-length feature animations. We also include Miyazaki's earlier work, films such as Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, produced by the forerunner company Topcraft.
