1000: Rainbow falls (Takeuchi)

This is Shiraito-no-taki, or "White-thread falls", just west of Mt. Fuji. At the right time of the morning on a sunny day, it displays the beautiful arch of a rainbow. With a drop of 25 m, and a total width of 200 m, this is only the most famous of many waterfalls of this name.

The photographer, Takeuchi Toshinobu, born in 1943, is well-known as a nature photographer, and teacher. (Takeuchi is his family name.)
